Youth Futsal Championships - Next Steps and Key Dates

Papakura City FC, in partnership with Northern Region Football (NRF), is proud to announce the entry of an U15 Boys regional representative team into the New Zealand Football Youth Futsal Championships.

This prestigious tournament is the pinnacle youth futsal event in Aotearoa, providing the region’s top talent with the chance to test themselves against the best players and teams from across the country. It marks an exciting opportunity to continue the growth of futsal in our region and create an additional pathway for young athletes to reach the highest level.

The national tournament will be held in Wellington in December (4 days) from Monday, 15th to Thursday, 18th December 2025. We will be travelling down on Sunday, the 14th and flying back on Thursday, the 18th.

Eligible players

Players must be born in 2010 or 2011 

Selection Process

Team Open Trainings / Trials will take place:

U15 Boys	Sunday 05 October	2pm - 4pm	Bruce Pulman Arena

 

Players may be offered spots before open training due to their history with the club and Futsal. 

HOW TO REGISTER TO TRIAL:

1. Click the image OR Login / Register at the top of the page.
2. Select "Current or Past member" or " New to Papakura City Football"
3. Select the registration form  " U15 Youth Futsal Team Trials" 
4. Enter the player details first. When entering the date of birth make sure to click on each of the pop-up calendars to confirm it. Be sure to enter / check your contact email especially as this is where ALL communication is sent.
5. Where it says "Choose Teams" select "U15 Youth Futsal Team Trials"
6. Click the blue drop-down box labelled "Team" select from the age group options available for the player's date of birth
7. Select "Proceed to Parents / Guardians" and enter/confirm your details and agree to the Terms & Conditions

Training

The team will have dedicated training to prepare for the national stage, with a strong emphasis on futsal-specific tactics. Sessions will focus on developing attacking structures and movements, strengthening defensive organisation, sharpening transition play, and set pieces.

*We are also investigating adding some weekend training to the schedule. 

Tournament and Training Cost

The programme is fully player-funded, with all funds going towards the cost of players participating. 

What is included? 

Tournament:

• Tournament entry fee.
• Return flights with Air New Zealand. 
• One rental van per team and petrol costs. 
• Four nights' accommodation at Victory University (individual room, shared private bathrooms). 
• Coaching costs for the head coach and assistant coach. 
• Meals, Breakfast, lunch and dinner from Sunday lunch. 

Pre-tournament: 

• Venue costs for team training. 
• Coaching costs for the head coach and assistant coach.  
• Club Training Top and Hoodie

Additional costs: 

• Food and snacks in Wellington that are outside what is provided by the accommodation. 
• If the team wants to enter the term 4 futsal league on Sunday nights, there will also be an additional cost to cover the league fee.

Payment plans are available with key dates which need to be met.

 Fundraising

If the team decides to, they may fundraise to bring the cost down with the club's support, if possible. 

 Parents wishing to travel.

Parents are welcome to attend, but will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation separately from the team. With players expected to stay and travel with the team.
