Weekend Preview

The champions return this week, as the Papakura City FC Women’s Futsal team makes its return to the court. With support from Northern Region Football, the team will compete against 5 other teams representing their regions on the court. 

Teams competing, Papakura City FC, Canterbury United Pride, Capital, Southern United, Central & WaiBOP Power.

This weekend will see us come up against WaiBOP power twice in Tauranga at the Trustpower arena.

Coaches Corner

Head Coach - Marvin Eakins 

The team has had a strong buildup with a squad full of high-quality players who have all been crucial in getting us to this stage. Ready to take on teams from around New Zealand who will be representing their regions strongly. The depth within our squad has allowed for a very high standard and intensity at training, but now our focus is to replicate this and take our standards to the next level in our games. 

Going into the weekend, we are playing catch-up with teams who have played 6 games already. While this weekend is a focus for now, we need to prepare well for a short turnaround as next weekend we face all the other teams in the competition. Our goal is to retain the title, and we know, we, Papakura City FC have the quality to do so. The team is proud to be representing, and I am proud to be working with, a club that has given futsal life and devotion over the past several years.
